In Ayurveda, foods are organised by life force energy into three groups: Sattva, Rajas and Tamas. Meat falls into the Tamasic group, meaning that it is considered to have low, or even negative life force. According to Ayurvedic tradition, Tamasic foods should only make up 5% of our diet. In our meals, the Tamasic aspect comes from mushrooms, onions, and occasional frying. Although we personally do not eat animal products ourselves, we leave the choice of adding or excluding meat to you. Ideal for people who follow a vegan lifestyle.
